Disney Genie & Genie+ Overview for DVC Members

Disney's Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane services launched on October 19th, replacing the retired FastPass system. These services revolutionize how you experience attractions and plan vacations, offering customized itineraries and premium access to the parks' most popular attractions. No magic lamp is needed—let us guide you through how this program enhances your Disney park experience!

Understanding Disney Genie and Genie+

Disney Genie and Genie+ are two distinct services under the same umbrella:

  • Disney Genie: A complimentary digital itinerary planner within the My Disney Experience app.
  • Genie+: A paid service granting shorter wait times on select attractions.

Disney Genie

Disney Genie crafts personalized park itineraries from rope drop to fireworks. Simply enter your vacation details, attraction preferences, and must-see experiences in the app, and your Genie will create a tailored plan just for you!

Disney Genie provides real-time suggestions as you explore the parks, such as:

  • Alerts when preferred attractions have low wait times.
  • Recommendations for nearby dining options.

Utilize the live chat feature for instant answers to any questions you may have throughout your day.

Disney Genie+

Genie+ offers priority access to over 40 attractions at Walt Disney World. The service is priced at:

  • $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World.
  • $20 at Disneyland.

With Genie+, select arrival windows at attractions starting at 7:00 am on your park day. Once you've checked into an attraction, continue to book rides one at a time throughout the day.

Genie+ allows bookings across theme parks with a valid park hopper pass and includes extras like AR photo filters. Note that some popular rides require a separate Lightning Lane pass for quickest access.

What is Lightning Lane?

Lightning Lanes are the new names for former FastPass entrances. Genie+ provides access to Lightning Lane entrances for certain attractions. However, purchasing Genie+ is not necessary to use Lightning Lane.

Guests can buy individual Lightning Lane passes and select arrival windows for up to two attractions per day. Pricing varies by date and attraction.

Using Disney Genie and Genie+ as a DVC Member

Disney Vacation Club members can access all Disney Genie planning features, regardless of whether they're staying at a DVC resort. Even if your membership was acquired via DVC resale, you can still enjoy Genie and Genie+ for your Disney vacations.

Lightning Lane reservations are easily booked through the app, proving especially valuable during peak times.

Foreign sellers, beware; they will not provide correct information to you about what you can expect when selling. They also, at the end of the process, hit you with fees you did not expect, and you are too late to do anything about it.
